YemenOnline-December 3,2008- The European Union (EU) confirmed on Wednesday readiness to offer more help to support Yemen's efforts in combating piracy.
Ministers of Foreign Affaires along with Ministers of Interior and Transport hold a meeting here with the European delegation headed by EU Legal Affairs Officer Eric Chiorno.
Chiorno said that EU is ready to enhance current coordination in this regard to secure the international navigation in the region, valuing highly Yemen's efforts exerted in his regard.
The meeting discussed ways of strengthening the coordination between Yemeni coastguard and Marine forces and the International Coalition Forces in the international waters in the Arab Sea and Indian Ocean in addition to bilateral cooperation in field of confronting piracy.
In the meeting, al-Qirbi briefed the EU delegation on efforts Yemen exerts for fighting piracy acts and its future plans for strengthening efforts in this area.
