March 02 - The national interest has been the basic motivation and the first base of the political agreement emerged from the dialogue between leaders of the General People's Congress GPC and the Joint Meeting Parties JMP, confirmed the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the General People's Congress GPC, Sultan Al-Barakani Denying the existence of "secret agreements" or "exchange deals" between the GPC and JMP, Al-Barakani added that "There was no diminution of the GPC in what was agreed upon with JMP and there was no acquiescence or submission to anyone. That step was not imposed on GPC, and we just wanted to give the last chance to the JMP so that GPC would not be blamed."
