State expenditures in Yemen to be cut down. No more luxury purchases.
YemenOnline. March 14 - President Saleh urged the Cabinet to pursue the policy of austerity in managing the state budget, highlighting the necessity for assessing the government's performance.  In the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday and chaired by President Ali Saleh, he directed the government to adopt the policy of rational expenditure under which the purchase of luxuries and cars, and all non-essential purchases are to be stopped in order to address the recent economic circumstances resulting from the sequences of the global financial overturn and low oil prices.
