The committee, chaired by the Cabinet's Secretary-General Abdul Hafiz al-Sima, approved giving the concerned ministries an opportunity to view these measures and provide their suggestions to contribute to the implementation of the second priority by no later than next week, in preparation for submitting them to the executive office for discussion and approval.
It noted in this regard to practical steps that have been accomplished during the last period in training and qualifying the workforce, which is now included in the local and Gulf labor markets.
The actions proposed by the consulting firm included a number of activities and stages for implementing the priority including signing memorandums of understanding with the GCC countries to employ Yemeni trained and qualified labor according to their needs.
The proposed measures also included guidelines for the employment of Yemeni labor in the GCC states and the mechanism of the project which is based on assessing the size of the demand for labor and identifying attractive opportunities to employ the Yemeni labor at the medium and short term.
At the meeting, Al-Sima affirmed the government's keenness to combine efforts between the government, private sector, and the concerned institutions to ensure effective implementation of the public and private program of this priority.
He stressed that the harmonization and common visions in this framework would lead to meet the needs of the local and Gulf markets from the qualified and trained cadres and achieve the interaction between the outputs of the technical education and the labor market.
In this regard, al-Sima noted to the role should be played by the private sector as a key and active partner to support the government efforts to employ the growing numbers of Yemeni labor weather in the local market, the Gulf market or the external market.
