Three soldiers killed in clashes with Al-Qaeda suspects south of Yemen
YemenOnline. August 19- Qaeda suspects  have killed three soldiers and injured two others in a clash in Abyan province  South of  Yemen.
The clash took place in a marketplace in the city of Loder when unknown attackers overpowered two soldiers and took their weapons, said a local official, quoted in an AFP report.

The source has reportedly claimed the assailants "could be part of al-Qaeda," adding that several of them were wounded when Yemeni army soldiers intervened in the fighting.

US and Britain have widely alleged that south Yemen has emerged as a major base for al-Qaeda militants, using the pretext to dispatch additional forces and intelligence operatives to the country.

Southern Yemen has also been the scene of numerous anti-Western protest rallies and other unrest stemming from complaints of widespread discrimination by rulers in Sanaa over the allocation of the country's resources.

The Yemeni government is reported to be heavily influenced and financed by Saudi Arabia and the US.
