Bahraini minister expresses hope for Yemen to join GCC
Sana'a, May 28, 2008 (YemenOnline) - Bahraini Deputy Telecommunication Minister Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Ali al-Khalifa has expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain desire of Yemen's full accession into Gulf Cooperation Council.
Upon his arrival on Tuesday in Sana'a, al-Khalifa headed with a Bahraini delegation to participate in the 25th round of ESCWA's ministeral meeting which is being held in Sana'a. The minister stated that his country aspires to unite the currency and open boundaries in order to provide enough freedom for trade.
He described Yemeni-Bahraini relations as ancient and significant, pointing out that cooperation relations between the two countries is continuing.
There are many Yemenis in Bahrain and are a part of the labor force in Bahrain, he said.
