Yemen welcomes President Abbas call to resume dialogue with Hamas
Sana’a, June 7, 2008 (YemenOnline) Yemen welcomed on Friday the call of Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, for renewed national dialogue between Hamas and Fatah based on a Yemeni initiative to heal the rift between the Palestinian rival factions. 

Foreign Minister, Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, said that 'Yemen has comfortably received the call by President Abbas for a national dialogue to end inter-Palestinian conflict. Minister al-Qirbi added that Yemen is ready to play any role that would lead to the success of this dialogue.  

Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, called on Wednesday for a "comprehensive national dialogue to carry out the Yemeni initiative in all its points to end the internal division among Palestinian warring factions.

Dana Perino, the White House spokeswoman announced U.S. support for the dialogue between Palestinian factions based on the Yemeni initiative.
