SNACC Threatens to Prosecute 1000 Government Officials
YemenOnline- July 06, 2008- The Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption has threatened to prosecute 1000 government officials from 12 different ministries for not submitting their financial disclosures.
Mohammed al-Matari, the head of the Financial Disclosure sector, reported that a strongly worded message was sent to 1000 government officials, giving them one week to turn in their financial disclosures. The next course of action was stipulated to be prosecution. It is illegal for ministries to refuse to disclose the details of their finance, according to a law passed to combat corruption.
