Yemen in Talks to Join GCC Standardization Organizationgg
YemenOnline- July 08, 2008- The Minister of Industry and Trade, Yahya al-Mutawakil, met in Jeddah with a delegation from the Secretariat General of the GCC Standardization Organization. The meeting focused on what Yemen has to accomplish in order to join the Council; including commercial regulations, industrial standards, and quality control. Yemen would have to improve many sides of its industry to equal the standards held by the other Gulf countries. The secretary general of the GCC, Soaud al-Askar, led the delegation through very positive talks. The GCC made it clear that they would aid Yemen and help them reach the standards necessary.
