Because of JMP disagreement , Yemeni Parliament fails to ratify the draft of constitutional amendments.
YemenOnline- August 19,2008- The majority of the Yemeni parliament were expecting the Declaration of Joint Meeting Party (JMP)candidates to the Supreme Elections Committee as they declared and confirmed yesterday, but JMP representatives at the parliament didn't. It was a shock for majority of which was their reaction is to call for a vote of the previous elections law .This is actually what happened. They have voted for the previous elections law instead constitutional amendments of the elections law that agreed and signed by the ruling party (GPC) and Opposition.I think there is a great controversy among the opposition parties them self" Assis. Secretary of GPC Al-Barakani says.By the way ,Yemen opposition is an alliance between Islamists and socialists in addition to a number of nationalist parties.
