Yemen’s first low-cost Felix Airways begins services
YemenOnline- October 18,2008- Yemen’s first low-cost airline, Felix Airways, began its operations yesterday to tap growing demand for domestic flights. The airline which has a capital of $80m and currently just one aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ700, was set by state-run Yemen Airways, and a unit of the Saudi-based Islamic Development Bank which promotes private entrepreneurship, officials said. Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Al Arrasha told reporters that the airline would operate flights between the capital Sanaa and the southern port of Aden, and add more domestic services after acquiring more aircraft. With the creation of the new airline, the latest of several low-cost airlines launched in the region in recent years, Yemen Airways will focus on international flights, officials said.

Demand for domestic flights was growing about 6 percent a year in Yemen, according to a report cited by newspapers.
