Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf has affirmed GCC's support to Yemen and the Yemeni people.
This came during a phone call with Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak.
Al-Hajraf stressed GCC's firm position in supporting Yemen and enhancing its security and stability by backing the efforts of the legitimate government in Aden.
The GCC Secretary General and bin Mubarak reviewed the efforts exerted by UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the US Envoy for Yemen Timothy Lenderking to solve the country's crisis.
They stressed the importance of coordination to call on the international community to put pressure on the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias to stop their attack on Marib.
They also agreed on the need to allow the UN technical team to inspect the Safer oil tanker in order to avoid an environmental and economic catastrophe.
