OVERVIEW
Between January and July 2023, 11,484 households (80,388 individuals) were affected by extreme weather conditions across Yemen, including heavy rain and floods. The majority of those affected reside in areas that are hard-to-reach and host displaced persons.
The RRM cluster stepped up its response to assisted flood-affected families, with operational presence in all of the 18 flood-affected governorates. Emergency teams were deployed by the RRM cluster to assess the damage to dwellings and shelters in all of the 147 districts affected by rains and flooding within the 18 governorates. Sixty-five percent of individuals targeted for in-kind RRM assistance during this period were those affected by floods. RRM assisted 11,449 households (80,143 individuals) due to extreme weather conditions.
In total, from 1 January to 31 July 2023, the RRM cluster assisted 17,733 newly displaced families (124,131 individuals) who were displaced as a result of armed conflict and/or natural disasters.
