The footage, circulated on jihadist-linked platforms, accuses local security units of “aggression” against AQAP members and vows retaliation.

- Targeted Threats: The video singles out the Security Belt Forces operating in Mudiyah and Lauder districts, warning of “severe consequences” if operations against AQAP continue. The group also named Abyan’s Security Director, accusing him of orchestrating raids and arrests targeting AQAP affiliates.

- Context of Escalation: The threats follow recent counter-terrorism operations under the Southern Transitional Council’s (STC) “Arrows of the East” campaign, which has pushed AQAP out of several strongholds in Abyan.
