Yemeni Politicians: Riyadh Agreement Is the Best Way to End Conflict between Yemen gov't, STC
While Saudi Arabia is focusing efforts to end the escalating conflict between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Yemeni politicians reaffirmed that the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement remains the best option to end the dispute and unify efforts against the Houthi coup.
“The Riyadh agreement is still the optimal way out, as it approached the crisis in a realistic and systematic way and offered solutions that restore matters to their proper place,” Yemeni Information Ministry Deputy Abdulbaset Al-Qaidi said.
Al-Qaidi asserted that Saudi Arabia weighing in as a guarantor is one of the main reasons that grants the Riyadh Agreement efficiency, making it the most viable and least costing solution.
Speaking to Sources, Al-Qaidi confirmed that the real threat facing Yemen today is the Houthi coup.
“We only have the option of turning a new page over disputes, because no matter how big those disputes are they aren’t as dangerous as the Houthi threat which poses an existential threat to state institutions and Yemen as a whole,” Al-Qaidi said.
