Yemen's Saudi-backed new gov't fully supported by Arab League
According to an Arab League statement, the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Monday asserted complete support for Yemen's Saudi-backed new government.
Aboul-Gheit said during a video conference with Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak on the latest developments in the country: "Formation of a government of political competency is a vital move to unifying legitimacy confronting the Houthis."
The chief of the pan-Arab group also expressed support for the political exertions headed by UN Envoy Martin Griffiths to attain a joint affirmation which will be a start of building confidence and getting ready for a political resolution.
Aboul-Gheit denounced the Houthi tries to threaten the government by extremist activities such as the bombings at Aden International Airport upon the arrival of members of the new government in the southern city.
