UAE starts building 8 medical centers in war-ravaged Yemen

An administration official said to Xinhua that on Tuesday, Apr. 27 the United Arab Emirates (UAE) began the first-phase building of eight medical centers in the Yemeni southeastern province of Hadramout.
The official stated on condition of remaining anonymous that the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) started the humanitarian initiative, which is intended for developing Yemen's health domain worsened by years of lethal conflict.
He further said that under the backing of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, another four new hospitals were opened by the UAE's ERC in Hadramout.
The source said that with direct support from the ERC, a number of medical facilities have been restored and equipped with necessary medical tools and supplies to combat against the coronavirus pandemic in Hadramout.
