The court also sentenced one other defendant to life imprisonment, and two others to 15 years imprisonment, and acquitted another.
The preliminary death sentence issued by the court has been referred to Egypt’s grand mufti for approval.
According to the court's referral, the four defendants intentionally murdered the victim on 15 February.
Two of them slipped sleeping pills into the victim's drink before letting the rest of the defendants into his apartment and murdering him.
The Yemeni general’s body was found in his Giza home days after the murder.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the defendants stole the victim’s money and personal belongings before fleeing in a rented car.
After obtaining confessions from the defendants, the authorities recovered all the stolen items, the rented car, a knife used in the incident, a cartridge case, and bullets.
