Saudi Arabia says it is time to find just, lasting solution to Palestinian cause

Saudi Arabia’s position towards the Palestinian cause is a firm one, the Kingdom’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan told the UN Saturday, adding that it was about time to find a just and lasting solution to the plight.
Prince Faisal, delivering the Kingdom’s speech at the 80th UN General Assembly meeting, noted that approaching the Palestinian cause outside the framework of international and legitimate laws is what contributed to the continuation of violence.
“The failure of the international community to take decisive measures to stop Israeli aggressions and violations will only contribute to destabilizing security and stability regionally and globally, opening the way for serious repercussions, and the escalation of war crimes and genocide,” the top Saudi diplomat said.
Touching on other matters, Prince Faisal underscored the importance of protecting the security, navigation and freedom of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and straits. He highlighted the importance of combating terrorism and drying up its sources, in addition to warning of the dangers of military uses of AI and autonomous weapons applications, and the need to enact international laws to regulate them.

During his speech, Prince Faisal also referred to Saudi Arabia’s long-term development path under its Vision 2030, and the goals that have been achieved to empower youth and women, promote the values of tolerance, expand the horizons of international communication and cooperation.
In addition to pioneering initiatives to reduce the effects of climate change and combat desertification and drought, such as the Green Saudi Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative, in addition to the Kingdom’s announcement of the establishment of the Riyadh-based Global Water Organization, in order to affirm the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable development and achieving a balance between development and climate, in a way that contributes to protecting the global climate system.
