Yemen : IDF Intercepts Drone Launched Toward Eilat
Sana'a – The Israeli military successfully intercepted a drone launched toward the southern city of Eilat on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The unmanned aerial vehicle was reportedly detected approaching Israeli airspace from the east, prompting immediate defensive measures.
Military officials confirmed that air defense systems were activated, and the drone was neutralized before reaching populated areas. No casualties or damage were reported.
The drone is believed to have originated from a pro-Iranian militant group operating in the region. While investigations are ongoing, early assessments suggest the drone was targeting strategic infrastructure in Eilat, a key port city on the Red Sea.
Defense Minister Israel Katz responded to the incident by stating, “Any attempt to harm Israeli sovereignty will be met with a decisive and painful response. Those who threaten Israel will learn the hard way.”
This latest interception comes amid heightened regional tensions and follows a series of similar drone incursions in recent weeks. The IDF has reiterated its commitment to maintaining aerial security and protecting civilian areas from hostile threats.
