Yemen’s PLC Chief Praises UAE’s Strategic Support
RIYADH — Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, has commended the United Arab Emirates for its sustained and multifaceted support to Yemen’s government and people, highlighting the UAE’s active role in backing the council’s efforts to restore stability and rebuild state institutions.
During a meeting in Riyadh with UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al-Zaabi, Al-Alimi expressed deep appreciation for the UAE’s contributions across economic, humanitarian, and development sectors. He emphasized that Emirati assistance has played a vital role in alleviating suffering, supporting public services, and strengthening Yemen’s resilience amid ongoing challenges.
“The UAE has demonstrated unwavering solidarity with Yemen in its most difficult times,” Al-Alimi said, noting the country’s strategic interventions in infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and food security. He also praised the UAE’s diplomatic efforts in supporting peace initiatives and regional stability.
The meeting included an exchange of greetings between Al-Alimi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reflecting the close ties between the two nations. Al-Alimi conveyed his wishes for continued prosperity and progress for the Emirati people under their leadership.
The UAE has been a key regional partner in Yemen’s recovery efforts, providing hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and supporting reconstruction projects in liberated areas. Emirati humanitarian agencies have also delivered critical assistance to displaced populations and helped restore schools, hospitals, and electricity networks.
This renewed affirmation of bilateral cooperation comes amid broader international efforts to revive peace talks and address Yemen’s humanitarian crisis, which remains one of the world’s most severe.
