Yemeni government warned the international community, On Friday evening, once again, of the catastrophic risks of a leakage, sinking, or explosion of the oil tanker "Safer" vertical opposite the city of Hodeidah, carrying 1.14 million barrels of oil, with the Houthi coup militia continuing to refuse entry to a UN team to maintain and empty it, which threatens With the occurrence of the largest environmental and humanitarian disaster in the world. 

In a statement, Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, said that the Safer time bomb would have dangerous repercussions on commercial shipping traffic in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, many times greater than the consequences of the accident of stranding of the Evergiven ship and the blockage of the navigational course in the Suez Canal.

He also warned of the dangers of the Houthi terrorist militia continuing to manipulate the file and use it as a material for political pressure and blackmail.

He stressed the government's readiness to agree to unloading the tanker and transfer the proceeds of the stored oil shipment, estimated at one million barrels, in favor of disbursing employees' salaries according to the 2014 statements, in order to avoid the occurrence of the disaster.
