Children's Lives at Al-Makeen Village are Saved by a CHV

Sua’ad Qayem who is working as a CHV for ADO under the nutrition project in Al-Qanawes district of Hodeidah governorate was witness to the deprivations of basic health facilities in Al-Makeen village where there is no access to a nearby Health Center other than an incompletely built non-functional one since the year 2000 that is 4 Km. far from the village.
Sua'ad added that, according to the monthly screening and referrals’ reports, there have been increasing cases of malnutrition among U5 children adding to the locals’ suffering. This can be attributed to the fact that parents have no access to health services and that’s why, they are dissuaded from getting their children immunized in time.
