Iran Keeps Air Defenses on High Alert Despite Trump’s Ceasefire Declaration

Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Iranian air defenses remained fully active late Monday, with anti-aircraft fire lighting up the skies over Tehran, according to multiple reports.
CNN footage showed tracer rounds and surface-to-air missile launches across the capital, suggesting that Iran’s military remains on high alert, possibly anticipating further strikes or violations of the truce. The continued mobilization comes after a weekend of intense U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, which caused significant damage and prompted retaliatory missile launches from Iran toward U.S. and Israeli targets.
While Trump declared the ceasefire “effective immediately,” neither Iran nor Israel has officially confirmed adherence to the agreement. In fact, Israeli officials accused Iran of violating the truce by launching additional missiles, prompting Israel to resume high-intensity strikes on regime targets in Tehran.
