Yemen : Five Dead, Five Injured in Tragic Car Rollover in Aden’s Al-Buraiqah District
Aden — A devastating traffic accident claimed the lives of five people and left five others injured after a vehicle overturned on the main road in Al-Buraiqah district, west of Aden, local authorities confirmed on Saturday.
The victims were reportedly traveling together when the car lost control and flipped over along a stretch of the highway known for frequent accidents. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was speeding before the driver appeared to lose control, causing it to veer off the road and overturn multiple times.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, where they pronounced five individuals dead and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Medical sources described the condition of two of the injured as critical, while the remaining three sustained moderate injuries.
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident, citing excessive speed and possible mechanical failure as contributing factors. The accident has reignited calls for improved road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations in the area.
Residents of Al-Buraiqah expressed grief over the tragedy, urging authorities to install warning signs and enhance patrols along the accident-prone stretch of road.
This incident adds to a growing toll of traffic-related fatalities in Yemen, where deteriorating infrastructure and limited enforcement continue to pose serious risks to public safety.
