The United Nations has expressed deep concern over the Houthi group's refusal to release detained civilians, stating that this action significantly hinders peace efforts in Yemen. 

UN officials emphasized that such detentions violate international humanitarian law and undermine trust-building measures essential for resolving the ongoing conflict.

The UN Secretary-General and his Special Envoy to Yemen have called for the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees, including humanitarian workers and civil society members. 

They stressed that these actions not only prolong the suffering of Yemen's people but also jeopardize the fragile progress made toward a peaceful resolution.
