Coronavirus medical aid arrives in Yemen
About 43 tons of coronavirus medical aid arrived in Yemen on Thursday, state news agency Saba New reported.
The shipment includes PCR tests, ventilators and protection equipment, Saba added.
The country’s health sector has been battered by years of war against Iran-backed Houthi militants and officials have been constantly highlighting the war-torn area’s shortage of proper equipment.
The sector lacks ventilators and PCR tests, official spokesman for the Supreme Emergency Committee for Combating Coronavirus Ishraq Al-Siba’i said.
The shipment was part of the international initiative ICC Yemen in collaboration with Hayel Sa’eed Ana’m Group and the World Health Organization.
