UAE Condemns Attack On UN Forces in Sudan
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated its strong condemnation of the attack, asserting it violates international law, and expressed condolences to the affected families and nations involved.
The UAE's condemnation follows the tragic attack on March 9, 2025, involving helicopters linked to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and governmental armed forces, resulting in the death of one international troop member and several injuries among the local forces.
UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash responded to Sudan's application by emphasizing the need for immediate efforts to establish a ceasefire and address the catastrophic humanitarian situation caused by the current conflict.
“The priority in Sudan must be the ceasefire in this absurd, destructive war and to address the enormous humanitarian catastrophe,” he asserted, which reflects the UAE’s positioning as it navigates these turbulent diplomatic waters.
