Bahrain on Sunday urged citizens and residents to avoid using main roads unless necessary to “allow relevant authorities to use roads efficiently” following strikes US against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“In light of recent developments in the regional security situation, we urge citizens and residents to use main roads only when necessary, to maintain public safety and to allow the relevant authorities to use the roads efficiently,” the ministry said on X.

Separately, Bahrain also said on Sunday that it has permitted a 70 percent remote working for all workforce in ministries and governmental institutions except for sectors whose work requires in-person attendance amid the ongoing tension in the region, according to the Civil Service Bureau.

“In light of the regional circumstances and current developments, starting today and until further notice, it has been decided to activate remote work for 70 percent of the workforce in all ministries and government agencies, with the exception of sectors whose work requires in-person attendance or those with special work procedures in emergency situations and as required by public safety,” the Bureau said in a statement on X.

The Gulf country hosts a US military base.

The statements came after the US hit Iranian nuclear facilities amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday night that American forces had struck three nuclear sites in Iran.

Trump said that the US “completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.”
