4 pro-gov't army members injured in motorcycle explodes in SE Yemen

At least four pro-government army members were injured on Thursday in a motorcycle bomb attack against a military checkpoint in the country's southeastern province of Hadramout.
"An explosion caused by a booby-trapped motorcycle targeted a military checkpoint in the ancient town of Shibam in Hadramout, injuring around four army soldiers," said a local security official, who preferred to remain anonymous.
According to the source, the motorcycle bomb was planted near the checkpoint area and detonated remotely, causing a huge explosion that destroyed two military vehicles at the scene.
He noted that a number of mud-built historic buildings were slightly damaged by the blast that hit Shibam town, located to the eastern part of Hadramout.
The targeted pro-government military checkpoint affiliated with the first Regional Military Command that is based in Hadramout province.
Last week, pro-government forces of the first Regional Military Command began deploying army units in the Hadramout's Valley and other areas to confront imminent terror attacks.
The government-controlled southeastern province of Hadramout and other areas in Yemen are witnessing growing activities of extremist organizations that take advantage of the four-year-long conflict in the impoverished Arab country.
