The 8th Reserve Allocation of the Yemen Humanitarian Fund was launched on November 15, 2023, with the objective of combating the negative effects of the ongoing floods and disease outbreaks in several parts of Yemen.
In response to the worsening situation, the allocation focused on three objectives: 1) Scale up Health, Nutrition and WASH assistance in underserved areas; 2) Support primary health care, reproductive health, mental health, and the treatment of MAM and SAM cases (including the procurement of essential supplies); 3) Strengthen disease outbreak prevention and improve preparedness, detection, and response and support access to safe drinking water.
A total of $26 million was allocated to 18 partners implementing a total of 21 projects across 3 clusters. Funding will target about 0.7 million people in need of assistance in 34 districts across 15 governorates.
