UAE president arrives in India for working visit
The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan arrived in Ahmedabad on Tuesday for a working visit to India, the Emirates News Agency reported.
Sheikh Mohamed’s agenda includes discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on ways to strengthen the two countries’ strategic partnership, and attending the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on Wednesday.
Modi welcomed Sheikh Mohamed on his arrival at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The two leaders saw a large-scale artwork, which included portraits of themselves, and witnessed a performance by a local folk group.
Modi accompanied Sheikh Mohamed from the airport as local residents waved Emirati and Indian flags.
Sheikh Mohamed was in Baku on Monday for an official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Ilham Aliyev, the country’s president.
