Al-Zubaidi ,Saleh Stress Unified Efforts to Confront Houthi Threat in Yemen
Aden — Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council members Aidarous al-Zubaidi and Tareq Saleh underscored the need to unify military and political capabilities in a single front to reclaim territory from Houthi militias and advance toward the capital, Sana’a.
In a phone call, the two leaders emphasized that the battle is one and that the risks and threats are shared, noting that coordination and joint cooperation form the foundation of the current and upcoming phase.
Both sides pointed out that achieving stability in the south represents a genuine launchpad for liberating the remaining northern areas and eliminating the threat posed by the Houthi group. They also stressed the importance of avoiding side battles and reinforcing collective action to achieve common goals.
On Wednesday, al-Zubaidi declared that the next objective is Sana’a “whether through peace or war, until rights are restored to their people.” During a meeting with Al-Bayda Governor Maj. Gen. al-Khader al-Sawadi, he affirmed that “the era of side battles is over” and that “the artery that once sustained the Houthis from southern areas has been cut.”
Al-Zubaidi further highlighted the necessity of consolidating efforts and bolstering local resilience against Houthi violations, adding that “the stability achieved in the south is the starting point for any serious battle to liberate the north.”
