Aden – Yemen is witnessing heightened political activity aimed at defusing tensions in the eastern provinces, where competing forces have vied for influence amid fragile security conditions.

President Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, stressed that the current priority lies in the battle to build and strengthen state institutions. He underscored that consolidating governance structures is essential to stabilizing the country and ensuring that political initiatives translate into lasting peace.

The intensified political engagement comes as local and regional actors push for dialogue to prevent further escalation in Hadramout and Al-Mahra, provinces that have recently experienced mounting friction between tribal alliances, security units, and political factions.

Al-Alimi’s remarks highlight the leadership’s focus on institutional resilience as the cornerstone for addressing Yemen’s broader challenges, including economic recovery, security reform, and national reconciliation.
