Houthi rebels announced today the downing of a U.S. MQ-9 drone in the skies of Hajjah Governorate using a locally-manufactured surface-to-air missile. 

Houthis spokesperson, Yahya Saree, stated that the drone was engaged in "hostile missions," emphasizing that this operation is part of their ongoing defensive efforts against U.S. military escalation in the region.

In another significant development, the Houthis claimed to have launched a military strike targeting the U.S. aircraft carriers "USS Harry S. Truman" and "USS Carl Vinson" in the Red Sea. 

According to their statements, the attack was carried out using cruise missiles and drones, reportedly achieving its objectives successfully. Notably, this marks the first reported targeting of the carrier "Vinson" since its deployment to the region.

These developments occur amidst heightened regional and international tensions. 

The Houthi group confirmed that its military operations will continue until the "aggression" ends and the blockade on Yemen is lifted. 

Meanwhile, the United States has yet to issue an official statement regarding these claims.

Such incidents have raised international concerns about regional stability, particularly given the increasing risks to maritime navigation and broader security implications.
