KSrelief expands medical, food support in Yemen
RIYADH--The dialysis center in Al-Ghaydah district of Al-Mahra governorate in Yemen, supported by Saudi aid agency KSrelief, continues to provide vital medical services.
In one month, the center treated 132 patients, with 55 undergoing 389 scheduled dialysis sessions and nine emergency sessions, according to a Saudi Press Agency report.
Another 75 patients received consultations and medical examinations at the kidney disease clinic, the SPA added.
In Aden governorate, KSrelief is running a volunteer medical project for cardiac surgery and catheterization from Nov. 21–28, in cooperation with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen.
During the campaign, the volunteer team so far performed 10 pediatric open-heart surgeries and 11 cardiac catheterizations.
KSrelief also continued distributing dates in 10 Hadramout coast directorates, reaching more than 36,000 vulnerable people, including those with special needs, illnesses, the displaced, widows and low-income families.
Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 1,161 projects in Yemen at a total cost of about $4.7 billion, covering food security, early recovery, water, sanitation and hygiene, health, camp coordination, education, protection, emergency aid and nutrition.
