Yemen's STC Confirms Death of Five Soldiers in Hadramout Attack
Aden — The Southern Transitional Council (STC) has confirmed that five of its soldiers were killed in an armed attack in Hadramout governorate, eastern Yemen.
In an official statement, STC Vice President Faraj al‑Bahsani expressed deep sorrow over the loss, announcing that the fallen were members of the Hadrami Elite Forces.
He said they were ambushed by “rebel elements” in the area of Ayss Khurad near the city of al‑Shahr.
Al‑Bahsani emphasized that the soldiers died while performing their national duty to safeguard security, stability, and the rule of law.
He added that their sacrifice was part of an ongoing struggle against “projects of chaos and rebellion,” stressing that Hadramout would not be left vulnerable to lawlessness or organized violence.
The incident highlights the fragile security situation in eastern Yemen, where armed groups continue to challenge local and regional forces.
