The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), through its Masam project for clearing explosives in Yemen, successfully dismantled 1,273 during the second week of May across the country.

 The cleared explosives included 1,239 unexploded ordnances and 34 anti-tank mines. In Aden Governorate alone, the Masam team removed 1,187 unexploded munitions, in addition to one device in Qa’atabah District (Al-Dhale’e Governorate), three in Hays District (Al-Hudaydah Governorate), and two in Al-Wuhait District (Lahij Governorate).

In Marib Governorate, the team cleared 32 anti-tank mines in Marib District. In Taiz Governorate, one unexploded device was removed in Moza District, two anti-tank mines and six devices in Dhubab District, and 39 devices in Al-Mudhaffar District.

With this, the total number of explosives removed in May has reached 3,112, bringing the overall total since the start of the Masam project to 493,256 explosives, which had been indiscriminately planted across Yemeni territory—endangering civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
