Lightning Strike in Yemen Kills 4, Injures Three "from Same Family"

Al-Dhalea – A devastating lightning strike claimed the lives of four family members and left three others critically injured in the Mureis district of Al-Dhalea Governorate, central Yemen. The incident occurred on Wednesday during a bout of heavy thunderstorms that swept through the region.
Local sources reported that the lightning bolt struck the home of Naji Masad Mohammed in the village of Al-Murwi, Asaf area, killing two women and two children instantly. The three injured relatives were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition for emergency treatment.
The tragedy has sparked concern among residents, especially in rural areas where homes are vulnerable to extreme weather events and emergency services are limited. Authorities have urged families to take precautions during storms, including avoiding open spaces and ensuring homes are equipped with basic lightning protection.
