Yemen : Wounded Protesters Rally in Taiz Demanding Rights
Taiz – Dozens of wounded individuals staged a protest on Sunday in front of the governorate building in Taiz, calling for their long-delayed rights and medical support.
Witnesses said the demonstrators, many of whom were injured during years of conflict, gathered peacefully to demand proper treatment, financial compensation, and recognition of their sacrifices.
Protesters carried banners highlighting their suffering and urging local authorities to fulfill promises made to them.
Organizers of the rally stressed that the wounded have been marginalized for years, despite repeated appeals to the government and humanitarian organizations.
They warned that continued neglect could escalate frustration and deepen the humanitarian crisis in the city.
Local officials have yet to issue a formal response, but sources inside the governorate confirmed that discussions are underway to address the demands.
The protest reflects growing discontent among war victims in Taiz, a city that has endured some of the fiercest battles in Yemen’s ongoing conflict.
