U.S. Warplanes Conduct Airstrikes on Al-Luhayyah District in Yemen’s Al-Hudaydah Province

Aden- U.S. fighter jets carried out airstrikes targeting the Al-Luhayyah district in Yemen’s western Al-Hudaydah province, according to media reports. The strikes reportedly hit positions linked to the Houthi group in the area.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to weaken the Houthis’ capabilities to threaten maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. U.S. Central Command had previously confirmed conducting precision strikes on Houthi weapons storage sites, stating that such operations aim to protect both commercial and military vessels in the region.
There were no immediate reports of civilian casualties as a result of the airstrikes. The Houthis have intensified their attacks on ships in the Red Sea since November 2023, prompting both the United States and the United Kingdom to launch coordinated aerial strikes targeting their positions inside Yemen.
These developments come amid rising tensions across the region, while international efforts continue in search of a political resolution to the conflict in Yemen.
