Yemen : Southern Forces Announce Killing of Senior al-Qaeda Leader in Hadramout

Hadramout -- Southern forces in Yemen announced the killing of senior al-Qaeda leader Rois al-Ruwaimi, along with several of his companions, during a security sweep carried out by the Hadrami Elite Forces in cooperation with Security Support Units in the Ghayl bin Yamin area of Hadramout governorate.
A statement issued by the southern forces said the operation was part of a broader campaign aimed at clearing the region of terrorist elements and armed insurgents.
The statement quoted a security source as saying that the Hadrami Elite Forces delivered heavy blows to the extremist and insurgent groups, thwarting their criminal plots, while stressing that security efforts will continue to reinforce stability in the governorate.
