Yemen: Houthis Detain Medical Shipments in Exchange for Payments

Local sources in Ibb Governorate reported that the Houthis are demanding payments in exchange for allowing medical shipments to enter the governorate, exacerbating the suffering of patients and their families. Kidney failure patients are experiencing increased neglect from the Houthis, worsening their situation.
The kidney dialysis center at Al-Thawra General Hospital in the city of Ibb, which serves about 550 patients from several governorates, is suffering from a severe shortage of medications and medical supplies due to the Houthis' detention of medical shipments.
This unprecedented medical neglect has led to an increase in patient deaths, reaching about 30 death case.
